NOTICIAS SEK-SANTA ISABEL 2014/15 :
- YOUNG, BUT VERY CHARITABLE: As part of the work of the Investigation Unit, students from 5th grade organised a Charity Market and Operation Kilogram to benefit the Hogar de San Juan de Dios shelter. At the beginning of June, the 4th grade students performed a Charity March to benefit those affected by the earthquake in Nepal.
- PUPILS Of THE SEK-SANTA ISABEL SCHOOL PARTICIPATE IN THE “BRANDING KIDS” PROJECT: Students of the SEK-Santa Isabel recently took part in the first Infant Communication forum “El Chupete 2014”. The school principal, Javier Presol, also took part, speaking alongside other senior education experts in a round-table debate on communications both now and in the future.
- FOURTH EDITION OF THE FAIR PLAY FESTIVAL : The SEK-Ciudalcampo International School recently hosted the fourth edition of the sports event “Fair Play Festival”. On this occasion pupils from the three Madrid SEK schools –SEKCuidalcampo, SEK-El Castillo and SEKSanta Isabel– took part together with the guest school, Colegio Pinosierra. In all, there were 900 participants. The different teams taking part competed in swimming, volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis and padel tennis.

- ADVERTISEMENT AND RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION WORKSHOP: During 2013-2014, teachers
and researches from Madrid’s Universidad Complutense started to develop an Advertisement and Responsible Consumption workshop in
SEK- Santa Isabel International School. The workshop lasts two years and is addressed to students in their 5th year of Primary School. - TEACHING TO LEARN/ MY OLDER FRIEND: SEK-Santa Isabel International School has launched a project where 5th year Primary Students and 2nd year Preschool students
work together. The oldest work with the youngest voluntarily for about three weeks every quarter during their breaks. They help them with the research unit they are working on at the time:
water, transport, holidays… - AGREEMENT WITH THE MUSIC CONSERVATORY: In 2012, SEK-Santa Isabel school signed a cooperation agreement with Madrid’s Royal Conservatory of Music. Through
this agreement, both institutions benefit each other. Since then, Conservatory students that follow Music Education studies work as trainees in our School. In turn, SEK-Santa Isabel students
periodically attend the Conservatory for curriculum support activities and complementary activities to their Units of Inquiry. - WITH DIFFERENT EYE : This year, SEK-Santa Isabel has participated in an intergenerational cooperation project with an Elderly Day Care Centre located in Arganzuela neighbourhood, Madrid. The project is called A different look
and its goal was to establish an emotional link between the oldest generation, represented by elderly people who received care from a Day Care Centre, and the youngest generation, our 4th and 6th year of Primary School
students.
